What you can expect from our content – and what you can't.

1. No legal or tax advice – and not an authority
Topicdrill is a private, independent information service and not a public authority. Our articles, city pages and tools give a general overview. They are not legal, tax or benefits advice and don't replace a review of your situation by the responsible office, an advice centre, a lawyer or a tax adviser. Only laws, official decisions and information from the responsible authorities are binding.
2. Liability for content
We write our content carefully from official sources and review it regularly (see methodology & sources). Even so, we can't guarantee that it is accurate, complete or up to date. As a service provider we are responsible for our own content on these pages under general law (§ 7(1) DDG, the German Digital Services Act). Under §§ 8–10 DDG, however, we are not obliged to monitor third-party information we transmit or store, or to look for circumstances that indicate illegal activity. Obligations to remove or block information under general law remain unaffected; liability only arises once we know of a specific infringement. As soon as we learn of one, we remove the content promptly.
Otherwise our liability is governed by the terms of use – unlimited in particular for intent, gross negligence and injury to life, body or health.
3. Tools and calculators
The moving checklist, benefits finder and disposal finder work with simplified assumptions. The benefits finder shows which benefits might apply to you – whether you're entitled, and to how much, is decided only by the responsible office once you apply. The checklist doesn't replace checking which deadlines apply in your case. What goes in which bin can vary between local waste services.
4. City data, deadlines and amounts
Details on our city pages (e.g. citizens' offices, online services, bulky waste, property-tax rates) are researched on the cities' official websites and come with a source and a review date. Cities often change addresses, opening hours, fees and procedures at short notice, though. The linked official source always prevails. Amounts, limits and deadlines reflect the date shown.
5. Liability for links
We link to external websites, mostly those of authorities. We have no influence over their content; the provider in question is always responsible for it. We checked the pages for obvious legal violations when we linked to them. Constant monitoring without specific grounds isn't reasonable. If we learn of an infringement, we remove the link promptly.
6. AI illustrations
Some illustrations are symbolic images created with artificial intelligence (FLUX) and are labelled as such. They don't show real places, people, buildings or documents and are not evidence for what the article says.
7. Advertising
Ads are labelled "Advertisement" and served by Google. We don't pick individual ads ourselves and don't endorse their content. The advertiser alone is responsible for anything offered in an ad. Advertisers have no influence on our editorial content.
