Q01How long do I have to register?

Two weeks from the day you move in (§ 17(1) Federal Registration Act).

Q02What if I register late?

Late registration is an administrative offence and the office can impose a fine (§ 54 BMG); the amount depends on the municipality.

Q03What if there is no appointment in time?

Book the next free slot and keep the confirmation – many offices then don't fine you.
